John's primary focus as a teenager was to get an education, so music was
more of a hobby for him at that point in his life. His father played a strong role
in stressing the need for education and the importance of developing one's
work ethic and character.

Upon graduation from high school, John attended the Massachusetts Maritime
Academy. During his career as a Merchant Mariner he has risen to the rank of
Captain, which is no small feat in itself. He has had the opportunity to travel
throughout the world and experience many different cultures as a result. This
gives John a perspective few others have when it comes to writing lyrics and
music.

After teaming up with lifelong friend Jim Raymond to start what has become a
successful limousine service
Captain Wolf Limousine, John decided to revive
his long dormant desire to start a band, write lyrics and get involved in the
music business. He bumped into his neighbor, a member of The Boston Pops
Orchestra, while walking his dogs and as they spoke John mentioned that he
had written a couple of songs. Two days later they were in the studio
recording along with Brad Hatfield(another member of the BPO).

John then formed The Captain Wolf Music Company and subsequently The
Captain Wolf Band. In just two short years John has worked with the likes of
Fred Buda and Brad Hatfield as well as legendary blues artists James
Montgomery and James Cotten. Some extremely talented artists are in the
Captain Wolf Band.

The Captain Wolf Music Company and the Captain Wolf Band have made
tremendous strides in such short period of time because of their talent and
dedication to hard work. Some critics would suggest that luck is involved.
John answers with a quote from Thomas Jefferson."I'm a great believer in
luck, and I find the harder I work the more I have of it".
