Michael, like his uncle, Captain John Nicoll, is a Road Apple Scholar. Worked hard, ala Abraham Lincoln to become an entertainer and singer. Considered by many as a Bellushi in the new Millenium. He has his own style and personality, similar to Bellushi in zany antics, always has complete control of the crowd, whether singing, MCing, or just saying hello on stage, when he is there, it is his stage. He is no repeat of anyone, only in mesmerizing the audience. David Hall, of both Aerosmith and James Montgomery fame, always wants " The Birdman" to announce Mr. Hall on stage. David and James have worked with Michael six times now, and always smile when they know he will be at the next show. The latest show at the Hard Rock in Boston, David couldn't say enough good things about him. Fred Buda, a 36 year veteran drum and entertainment wizard with the Pops, and now has the Jazz Pops, considers " The Birdman" to be the best new and great entertainer, with a lot of Old School in him. Michael's story is very Cinderella. He started of all places, in Karoake, went to live music with the Mike Spinelli several years ago, then he joined The Captain Wolf Band. When you consider he has gone all the way to performing with James Montgomery and the recording with Brad Hatfield of the Pops, and working with Fred Buda, he is a great example of hard work, great talent, and never take " No" as a response. " Entertainment in all aspects is tough. " It is tough, if it was easy, anyone could do it, the toughness, is what makes it so great." His professionalism tells how far he has gone. Whether singing or MCing, he is the " Birdman", a Pro out of nowhere, that has gone somewhere and beyond. His influences are: Sam and Dave, Elvis, his favorite, The Beatles |
